Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.
Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials report early analysis show the fluid was most likely human blood.
"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for details.
A senior representative commented the attack rendered him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.
"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
