New England matched their longest winning run since the Tom Brady period as they overcame division opponents the Jets by 13 points in professional football

The triumph bolsters the Patriots lead at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets at the foot after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The visitors had scored first at their home field with QB Justin Fields running in a short rushing score to cap the Jets' opening drive

But the Patriots fought back in the second quarter as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone in the middle of the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a big time for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," Maye commented on Henderson. "He desires to be great."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to close the gap for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side closed out the victory
